Artists

Every space at Sugar Republic is grounded in art and design. Our installations are created in mixed media including paint, timber, acrylic, print, LED neon, everyday materials and found objects, and sometimes real food.

Our team

Our in-house artists design and create most of the Sugar Republic spaces, using their skills in experiential design, prop making, construction, craft-based design, floristry, graphic design, scenic painting and sound/lighting.

Visual artists

We've collaborated with many awesome artists on Sugar Republic installations including Kate Pullen, Travis Price, Frida Las Vegas, Dawn Tan, Callum Preston, Nico, Liz Harry, Eamon Donnelly, Madeleine Golden, Jade Goodwin, Lauren Winzer, Kirbee Lawler, Luke O'Donohoe, Phil Berry and Alexandra Daffara. We have also used our social media platforms to shine a light on Australian artists and creative businesses, with a particular focus on indigenous artists. We welcome artists to reach out to us if you would like to collab with Sugar Republic.

Performing artists

We support performance artists and we've opened up our spaces to many performers to create content, meet their community, perform and promote their work. We've invited in DJs, dancers and drag artists, chefs, singers and circus troupes. Some of our best memories involve Bugs Band, Charity Werk, the Australian Ballet, Anna Polyviou, Circus Oz and Ava Max.
